LAS VEGAS– Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA) is excited to announce that Tina Quigley has been named the new President & CEO, and is the first woman to lead the organization.
“With nearly 30 years of experience in driving meaningful multi-agency collaborative initiatives, Tina is well-equipped to lead LVGEA,” said Betsy Fretwell, Executive Vice President of Strategy for Switch and Chairwoman of the LVGEA 50 Board of Directors. “We believe her strong executive skills and extensive community relationships will assist LVGEA in expanding regional partnerships and diversifying industry in the region.”
Quigley served as Chief Executive Officer for the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Southern Nevada, where she led the region’s public transportation, traffic management center, road construction and funding, and regional planning. She began her career as a planner at Harry Reid International Airport, where she eventually oversaw the airport’s major capital projects program.
“Over the past few months, the LVGEA Board conducted a comprehensive regional CEO search, working with The Beckley Group to assist in the search process,” said Clark Wood, Southern Nevada Market President at US Bank, and chair of the CEO Search Committee. “With her proven track record of leading successful regional planning initiatives and extensive knowledge of what drives the Southern Nevada economy, we believe Tina is the ideal candidate to lead LVGEA in its next chapter of growth.”
As CEO, Quigley will set the vision for the organization in partnership with the LVGEA 50 Board, oversee a staff of 15 plus external vendors, and work collaboratively with internal and external partners to execute LVGEA’s mission and drive economic growth in Southern Nevada.
“In my 30+ years as a resident of Southern Nevada, I watched our region’s reputation grow from a place to visit to a place to call home for businesses and families,” said Quigley. “We have grown from being focused on short-term wins, to long-term strategies centered on economic sustainability and diversity. This year as LVGEA celebrates its 10th anniversary, I am honored to move forward some of the collaborative, game-changing work underway by our regional partners and the LVGEA team.”
Quigley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Airport Planning & Development from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Program for Leadership Development.
Quigley will succeed Jonas Peterson, who after eight years in the CEO role announced in October 2021 he was stepping down to pursue a new opportunity. Quigley will assume her responsibilities on Monday, February 14, 2022.
LVGEA would like to thank the members of the search committee for their time and effort in selecting the organization’s new leader: Betsy Fretwell, Clark Wood, Glenn Christenson, Lauri Perdue, Jayne Backhouse, Jaime Cruz, and Bryant Thornton.
