Dr. Caryll Batt Dziedziak

Caryll is a History professor at UNLV and also the current director of the Women’s Research Institute of Nevada (WRIN), which she co-founded in 1999.  She has taught a variety of courses, including U.S. History, Nevada History, Historical Methods, and US Medical History. She is also an oral historian, having published many oral histories on Nevada women over the past twenty-five years. She is the faculty advisor for the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society and the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) undergraduate branch. She is also the university liaison for the Southwest Oral History Association for which she is a past president.  As director of WRIN she oversees the annual NEW Leadership program, the production of research briefs, oral histories, educational outreach, grant writing, and community outreach. 

She and her husband, Bryan, have been married forty-three years and are parents to three sons and grandparents to five grandchildren.  They are both looking forward to their retirement years in Arizona for golfing, hiking, and backyard birdwatching.
