Southern Nevada's September Luncheon

World Class

First Responder Training in Southern Nevada

Please join us for our first southern Nevada luncheon after our summer break. We will be joined by Captain Reggie Rader of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to learn about the Joint Emergency Training Institute. The goal of the Joint Emergency Training Institute also known as the JETI is to provide dynamic, realistic and consistent training for Southern Nevada’s first responders.

Captain Reggie Rader has served his community for more than 24 years with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. He began his journey in 1998 and has risen through the ranks in assignments at the officer, sergeant and lieutenant ranks.

Captain Rader gained invaluable experience while serving several stretches in the Gang Unit Bureau. As a lieutenant in the Organizational Development Bureau, he oversaw training for the department and continued LVMPD's tradition of transparency, accountability and empowerment.

In 2019, Reggie attended the FBI National Academy and is a proud graduate of class 278. Upon his return from Quantico, he was promoted to the rank of captain where he served a brief stint as the commander of the Emergency Operations Bureau.

Captain Rader proudly served as the Bureau Commander for Southeast Area Command. As the Southeast Area Command Captain, he led the men and women who worked the busiest area in the Las Vegas Valley. Due to the community partnerships and ownership that existed between his officers and citizens, historic reductions in violent crime occurred in the area.

Currently, Captain Rader is the Organizational Development Bureau Captain, overseeing the Academy, Field Training Program, Firearms Training and Tactics Unit, Advanced Officer Skills Training, Reality Based Training, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Multi-Assault Counter Terrorism Action Capabilities Section, and In-Service training.

Reggie is a native Nevadan and proud Green Valley Gator graduate. During his career he has volunteered numerous hours to the Honor Guard, even rising to the ranks of Honor Guard Commander. This was his way to honor and pay tribute to our fallen heroes. He currently coaches youth basketball and enjoys spending quality time with his wonderful wife and delightful children.
