Connecting a curious public
 with scientific inquiry and innovation!

Originally founded as a children’s museum, The Discovery has quickly transformed into a world-class science center serving much more than families with young children. This transformation is driven by the knowledge that the museum’s potential to make a larger impact in our region requires serving a much broader demographic. Through hands-on galleries and exhibitions, and a robust array of educational programs, The Discovery connects learners of all ages with opportunities to explore a wide variety of ever-changing topics, all designed to inspire curiosity and further investigation.

Mat Sinclair, President and CEO of The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum, will share what The Discovery team is doing to engage diverse audiences…specifically LGBTQ, as well as some points of interest on museum operations.  The museum’s values driven strategic framework and examples of how, when and why they blend their organizational values with their business practices and operations will be discussed also.  Mat has served the Museum and the community for more than 6 ½ years.  Prior to this position, he had a number of jobs in Portland, Oregon including Executive Director of the Hoyt Arboretum and Vice President of the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.  Mat holds a master’s degree in Public Administration.

The Discovery continues to serve its visitors
with a broad range of opportunities to explore
science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) concepts
through hands-on exhibits and educational programming
not offered anywhere else in Northern Nevada.

Don't miss this opportunity to Discover and Connect with your Northern Nevada IWF colleagues!
