How the Passion & Purpose of Two Women

impact life after death in

Southern Nevada.

Join us in June to hear the fascinating story of how, in 2009, two courageous women, Wendy Kraft & Laura Sussman,  defied the business model of the male-dominated, large, corporate, "Death Care" chains in Southern Nevada, and opened their own funeral home.

As the only women-owned firm in the area, they built their reputation on a few driving principles; a comfortable, non-traditional environment, excellent customer service, and  relationships before profit.  Over the past 10 years, they have cared for 3,200 families, and have grown their firm into the highest rated in the area.

Don't miss this opportunity to hear their story about transparency and integrity in life and death.

Wendy Kraft, is Co-Owner of Kraft-Sussman Funeral Service, Las Vegas’ Women Owned Funeral Home.  She comes to funeral service through personal tragedy.  Wendy is involved in The Las Vegas Human Rights Campaign Steering Committee & currently serves as Chair of The Federal Club and sits on the National Board of Governors. Wendy was awarded Volunteer of the Year from HRC in 2015.

A long time community leader, Wendy is a Board Member and was the former Secretary on the Board of The Gay & Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada.  She is a past Board Member of The Jewish Community Center of So Nevada, Senior Citizen Law Project, Jewish Family Service Agency, Southern Nevada Continuity of Care Association (SNCCA), Hadassah & LAMBDA to name a few.

Wendy was honored as a Hadassah Woman of the year in 2014.  Wendy & Laura were the 2018 honorees of Temple Sinai.  They are the mothers of Elyse, Leah & Emma, three strong, socially conscious women.

Laura Sussman, MA was a nonprofit executive for nearly 25 years, prior to opening Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services.  Through discussions with people who had unpleasant experiences with local funeral homes, as well as her involvement with the Chevra Kadisha (Jewish Burial Society), she understood the need for an alternative to the high pressure, corporate chain funeral homes in Southern Nevada.  Laura is a licensed funeral director and pre-need insurance agent.  She is involved in a number of community organizations including TIP (Trauma Intervention Program of Southern Nevada), the Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada, and a number of local synagogues. Laura currently serves as Chairperson of the Board of the Jewish Family Service Agency.
