Yolanda King is an accomplished executive leader and finance expert with a proven track record of steering organizations through challenges and fostering growth. During her tenure as Chief Executive Officer/County Manager of Clark County, she demonstrated exceptional leadership during pivotal events such as the Great Recession, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the 2017 Las Vegas Mass Shooting.
As Chief Executive Officer/County Manager of Clark County, Yolanda effectively managed a $9.4B budget, overseeing 38 departments with 10,000 employees and successfully executing policies established by the elected Board of County Commissioners. Her responsibilities included overseeing essential government services, such as a major international airport and Nevada's prominent public hospital. With expertise in public finance, Yolanda advanced through various financial roles, culminating in her tenure as Chief Financial Officer at Clark County.
Yolanda currently serves as the President of the Nevada Taxpayers Association where she advocates for sound fiscal policies and expenditures in Nevada, promoting efficiency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility.
Yolanda founded King Strategies, leveraging her extensive experience to offer services in business strategy, financial management, social impact initiatives, and government relations. She passionately advocates affordable housing development, earning the 2022 Innovation Housing Award from the Nevada Housing Coalition.
Yolanda has been recognized throughout her career for her vision and leadership, including awards from the National Association of Counties, Junior League of Las Vegas, and Kappa Alpha Psi. She serves on the boards of Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, the Governor's Office of Economic Development, and the Desert Research Institute.
Yolanda holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Her commitment to excellence and community impact continues to define her influential career.
