Dr. Kate Zhong is a geriatric psychiatrist, pharmacologist and brain health advocate with a broad experience across healthcare sectors. She is the founder of Women’s Brain Health Initiative at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and creator of Cleveland Clinic healthybrains.org platform.
Dr. Zhong is the CEO of CNS Innovations LLC, a company dedicated to providing innovative consultation services to advance clinical research in prevention, diagnose and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
As the founder of Kate Zhong Collections LLC, she is dedicated to empowering women, embracing beauty and giving back through her artistic creation of “perfectly imperfect” freshwater pearls. (https://www.katezhongcollections.com/)
Dr. Zhong served as the Chief Strategy Officer for the Global Alzheimer’s Platform (GAP), a foundation devoted to improving and accelerating clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease. She led the development and implementation of the organization's global strategies and collaborations. Prior to joining GAP, Dr. Zhong was the Senior Director of Clinical Research for the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. She spearheaded the creation of comprehensive clinical research programs treating patients with Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and traumatic brain injury. She played a key role in establishing the Ruvo center as one of the largest clinical trial facilities for memory disorders in the nation.
While working as the Medical Director for AstraZeneca, Dr. Zhong led multiple global clinical trials in Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia, and mood disorders. Dr. Zhong has been a scientific consultant for multiple companies in United States, Canada, and Asia.
Dr. Zhong received her MD degree from West China University of Medical Sciences in Sichuan, China. She earned her master’s degree in pharmacology and completed her residency in Psychiatry at University of Toronto, Canada.
Dr. Zhong is a founding member of AARP Global Council on Brain Health and Women Against Alzheimer’s. She is on the Global Strategy Council for HomeInstead Senior Care and is on the executive board of International Psychogeriatric Association. She is a member of International Women’s Forum. She serves on multiple boards including Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada, Nevada Ballet Theater, Dignity Health Hospital and Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Women Executive Council. She has been actively involved with Maria Shriver’s Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement and Women Research Institute of Nevada. She was named as a “Woman to Watch” and” Alzheimer’s Ambassador”. She was honored with the Las Vegas Top Tech Exec Award and Healthcare Headliner Research Award for her creation of Cleveland Clinic healthybrains.org. She received the “Top Ten Most Influential Chinese Women Award" and was featured in the PBS documentary “MAKERS: Women Who Make America”, profiling her as one of Nevada’s most influential women.
