Mary is recently retired after working in the utility industry for over 30 years. Mary held a variety of executive positions with NV Energy and provided leadership and creative change throughout the industry’s transformation. Mary retired as Vice President of Business Development and Community Strategy, and also held the positions of Controller, Vice President of Rates and Regulation, Assistant Treasurer of Shareholder Relations, Director of Budgets and Financial Services, and Director of Water Policy and Planning. Mary is currently a trustee with The Nature Conservancy of Nevada, board member for the Hot August Nights Foundation, and previously the Chair of the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation, board member of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, the Reno Philharmonic, and the Great Basin National Park Foundation. Mary has also been a Board member and officer of several other community organizations including the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce, the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority, the Athletic Association of the University Nevada, and the Nevada Women’s Fund. Mary is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor and worked for several years in public accounting specializing in auditing and tax. Mary graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Mary was born and raised in Ely, Nevada and lives in Reno with her husband Reed.
