We will be joined by Nancy McCormick, Vice President of Retention, Expansion and Workforce Development for EDAWN, for a brief overview of the different departments/activities within EDAWN, highlights from the new strategic plan/areas of focus, growing industry trends in the region from an attraction standpoint, and overall economic information for the Reno area, as well as community opportunities that EDAWN engages in relative to childcare, workforce housing, STEM education, and transportation.
Nancy McCormick joined EDAWN as the Vice President of Retention, Expansion and Workforce Development in April of 2012. Prior to joining EDAWN she had a 32-year career with AT&T and subsidiaries in California and Nevada. She retired from AT&T as a Regional Vice President of Sales where she led a team of sales professionals responsible for all lines of A&T business services across Nevada and Northern California. In her 32-year career she held a variety of sales and service leadership positions. In her role as the Senior Vice President of Retention, Expansion and Workforce she led the EDAWN team responsible for retention and expansion of existing primary companies, support for newly located companies, and the workforce development program, including talent attraction. Effective July 1, 2024, she has transitioned to the role of Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Workforce Development. She meets regularly with strategic partners, large employers, education leadership, and community leaders to support a thriving economy, cultivate a workforce that meets employer needs, and to leverage relationships for collective success. Nancy is currently a member of the TMCC Institutional Advisory Council, serves on the Board of the regional Workforce Board (Nevadaworks), has been serving as a member of the Nevada Corporate Giving Council and the Advisory Committee for the annual Philanthropy Summit and is also on the Leadership Committee for the Nevada Women’s fund. Nancy graduated Magna Cum Laude from Chapman University with a B.A. in Communications, is a Master Graduate of Rapport Leadership International, and has an extensive background in leadership, sales management, and business development.
