Bio
I joined IWF Chicago as a first-time CEO of a high profile and highly publicized startup called Techweek, which was owned by a Venture Capital firm - Guild Capital. The board charged me with navigating a turnaround and developing a sustainable model for growth. Through that experience, I became deeply involved in the tech, startup, and investment community, which continues to be my primary community today. After three years with Techweek, I left to start a new company, Inhabitr, as COO with a Partner from my first company, McKinsey & Company. Shortly into building that business, I received notice that I was needed to help my family business – the Golden Steer Steakhouse. A few months later, my husband and I moved to Las Vegas and began learning about the restaurant and slowly taking over. We made it one year exactly when COVID hit and like the rest of hospitality community, we were forced to shut down. For the next two years, we began a period of survival and innovation. Our goal was to come out of COVID with a stronger business and a way to generate revenue outside the four walls of the establishment. Today, we have doubled the business, launched an eCommerce brand, began work on expanding the footprint, while prepping for a retail line and additional locations.
