Dr. Trudy Larson is newly retired as Professor and founding Dean of the newly accredited School of Public Health at the University of Nevada, Reno. Leading a school dedicated to public health and improving community health extended her passion for improving health for all. Her primary areas of interest have been HIV/AIDS and immunizations. Prior to this appointment she was a professor in the department of pediatrics and former chair and associate dean at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. Dr. Larson is past chair and incoming chair of the Nevada Donor Network Board, is a board member at Northern Nevada HOPES and serves as a member of the Governer’s Covid-19 Medical Advisory Team and on the State Board of Health. Dr. Larson received her medical degree from the University of California, Irvine. She completed a Pediatric residency at the University of California Davis Medical Center followed by a fellowship in pediatric infectious disease at UCLA and worked at the University of Nevada, Reno for 37 years.
